Juri Joins the Street Fighter V Roster
Hello, Street Fighters!
We have a couple of exciting pieces of news to share with you today. Following the announcements from EVO and SDCC 2016, this months update will bring you our latest addition to the Street Fighter V roster: Juri!
Introduced in Super Street Fighter IV, Juri is a provocative S.I.N. agent from South Korea who goes by the codename of Spider and worked under Seth. Juri is a sadistic fighter who enjoys violence and loves tormenting her prey, with a tendency to get involved in anything she deems as fun or dangerous. Fueled by hatred of Shadaloo and M.Bison for the murder of her parents, Juri joined S.I.N. to seek revenge and doesnt care who she has to annihilate to achieve her goals.
Juri in Street Fighter IV
Juri returns to Street Fighter V with a brand new look and some tricks up her sleeves. A trained expert in Taekwondo, Juri also possesses a ki booster called the Feng Shui Engine equipped in her left eye to aid her during battles. She focuses on flashy, fast and furious kicks, and has a wide range of ki-based attacks at her disposal. Her trademark moves are her ki-based fireball attack and pinwheel kick.
What has Juri been up to since defeating Seth? Why is she back? Be sure to check out the free story DLC A Shadow Falls to find out!
- Juri builds charges up and rushes at the opponent, kicking them from behind. Juri can choose to charge Kasatsushu by holding down the V-Skill command. During this charge, she can cancel Kasatsushu at any time by inputting a forward or backward dash. Additionally, she maintains her charge level after the cancel.
V-Trigger: Feng Shui Engine Type Alpha
- Juri activates the Feng Shui Engine which allows her to cancel all of her standard attacks, both in the air and on the ground, into one another. In addition, each strength of her Fuharenkyaku attacks will remain in their charged state.
Critical Art Sakkai Fuhazan
- Juri kicks out a large slicing blast towards the opponent that hits multiple times.
Juri will be available to download on the PlayStation and Steam stores starting July 26 th . Fans attending San Diego Comic Con this week will be able to experience playing Juri first hand at the Street Fighter V booth, so be sure to stop by!

Street Fighter V July Bug Fixes
Hey guys, here to give a quick update on some character changes included in the Cinematic Story Mode update. You may have seen that we have fixed a couple of bugs with the newly available Ibuki but we would like to give a full list of the minor bug fixes for the remaining characters. Click the jump to check them out.
Bug: Cammy's Fatal Leg Twister cannot throw opponents who are in a couch state; however, when an opponent is coming out of a damage motion/animation and is attempting to crouch while coming out the animation, Cammy could through the opponent.
Fix: Cammy's Fatal Leg Twister, a throw attack that is not meant to throw opponents in a crouching state, is no longer able to throw an opponent who is inputting a crouch while coming out of a damage motion/animation.
Bug: When throwing Sonic Booms (all strengths), Nash's collision box did not extend all the way to Nash's feet when releasing the projectile, causing the opponent character to pass through him when approaching from behind.
Fix: Set the collision box of the Sonic Boom motion to reach Nash's feet, so that the opponent character cannot pass through him.
Bug: Nash's collision box when stunned (dizzied) is slightly shifted towards his backside when compared to how he appears on screen and when trying to hit Nash while in a stunned state, unintended behaviors would occur.
Fix: Adjusted Nash's collision box when in a stunned state so that its position matches Nash's appearance on screen.
Bug: Activating V-Trigger at the same time the opponent performs a V-Reversal, caused a bug where the camera would move incorrectly for a period of time.
Fix: Corrected this issue so that when Nash's V-Trigger is activated at the same time as the opponent's V-Reversal the camera no longer moves incorrectly.
Bug: During M. or H. Ryobenda, there is a moment where F.A.N.G's lower body collision box would disappear, which was unintended.
Fix: Adjusted M. and H. Ryobenda so that the collision box is consistent throughout the entire motion of the move.
Bug: In Flap Spin, V. Spinning Mixer, and Dash Spinning Mixer, the empty guard box was set so that it could not force the opponent's guard motion.
Fix: Flap Spin, V. Spinning Mixer, and Dash Spinning Mixer, are now able to force the opponent to empty guard.
Bug: When doing an EX Eagle Spike from Front Flip (V-Skill), the kick buttons have to be pressed at precisely the same time in order for the move to come out.
Fix: EX Eagle Spike from Front Flip will come out even if there is a one frame gap between the kick buttons that are pressed simultaneously.
Bug: Due to the small size of V Eagle Spike's collision box, when performing the move when the V-Trigger's tornado is right behind the opponent, the move would pass through the opposite side of the opponent.
Fix: Increased the size of V Eagle Spike's collision box so that Rashid doesn't pass through the opponent.
Bug: When Assault Beak hits as a counter hit, the distance created between Rashid and the opponent upon hit is a little more than when it hits normally, which is not intended.
Fix: Adjusted Assault Beak so that when it hits as a counter, the distance created between Rashid and the opponent is the same as when Assault Beak hits are a normal hit.
Bug: Rashid was unable to cancel the initial jump frames into Altair.
Fix: Initial jump frames can now be canceled into Altair.
Bug: There is a section in Bull Slider's hurt box that doesn't contain a throw box, which unintentionally provided throw invincibility to Birdie.
Fix: There is now a throw box throughout the entire motion of Bull Slider.
Bug: Alex's V-Skill, Overhaul's effect is supposed to be negated when Alex hits an opponent with an attack, when his attack is guarded, or when getting hit by an opponents attack. However, even when Alex's J. LP or J. LK is guarded, the effect would remain present.
Fix: When J. LP or J. LK is guarded by the opponent, Overhaul's effect is negated.
Bug: During V-Trigger, L. Shoryuken landing motion can be canceled into M. Shoryuken, H. Shoryuken, or EX Shoryuken. But, when an opponent jumps over Ken while he is performing this cancel on a whiffed V L. Shoryuken, Ken would perform the additional Shoryuken towards the opposite direction.
Fix: V. L. Shoryuken landing animation after being whiffed or guarded is no longer cancelable into M. Shoryuken, H. Shoryuken, or EX Shoryuken.
Bug: When H. Shoryuken trades during the initial part of the attack, Ken is way more advantageous and can easily gain the upper hand, which was not intended.
Fix: Made it difficult for Ken to gain the upper hand when the first part of an H. Shoryuken trades with an opponent's attack.
Bug: When Jodan Sanrengeki hits an opponent right when they are going from a standing state into a crouching state, the hit animation of the opponent behaved irregularly.,
Fix: Adjusted Jodan Sanrengeki so that when it hits an opponent transferring into a couching state, the opponents hit animation behaves normally.
Bug: During V-Trigger, when successfully performing Mind's Eye (V-Skill), it was impossible to cancel the second half of Mind's Eye's into another Mind's Eye.
Fix: Corrected this so that during V-Trigger, the second half of a successfully performed Mind's Eye can be canceled into another Mind's Eye.
Bug: EX Head Press (including while V-Trigger is activated) would miss the second stomp at times when used against certain actions.
Fix: The hit box of the second stomp in EX Head Press (including while V-Trigger is activated) has been expanded, making it easier for it to hit.
Bug: When Psycho Inferno hits an opponent or is guarded, the side taking damage would gain large amount of meter.
Fix: Lowered the amount of meter gained by the side taking damage from being hit or guarding Psycho Inferno.
Bug: The empty guard box on Yoga Gale (normal ver.) is placed high, making it difficult to force opponents to guard.
Fix: Lowered the empty guard box on Yoga Gale, making it easier to force opponents to guard.
Bug: When Guile's Sonic Hurricane hits an airborne opponent right after the move becomes active, if the opponent performs a recovery, Guile would be put at about a 16 frame disadvantage.
Fix: Because this was an unintended circumstance, Sonic Hurricane has been adjusted so that in cases when it hits and only on hit, Guile will be able to move before his opponent.
Bug: When performing a V-Trigger (Bloody Kiss - Rojo) without the claw on wake-up or after guarding, it was impossible for it to be used as a reversal.
Fix: This has been corrected so that when the V-Tigger (Bloody Kiss - Rojo) is used without the claw on during wake-up or after guarding it can be used as a reversal.
Bug: When Dhalsim is the opponent, when attempting to hit him with Yosokyaku's first hit, whether or not it would hit would differ between the 1P side and the 2P side under specific circumstances.
Fix: Widened the hit box of Yosokyaku towards Chun-Li's backside very slightly so that when the move hits or misses is consistent regardless of which side Chun-Li is on.
Bug: With the claw is equipped, when inputting down(any crouch input)+LP+LK right before waking up or coming out of hit/guard stun, he would perform a C. LP instead of a normal throw when Vega becomes moveable.
Fix: This has been corrected so that when pressing down (any crouch input)+LP+LK during reversal timing with Vega (w/ claw) will result in a normal throw when Vega becomes movable.
Bug: After activating Ibuki's air throw (Tobizaru), Ibuki was invincible while landing on the ground.
Fix: Added a hurtbox to Ibuki during her landing frames after an activated Tobizaru.
Bug: When holding down HP while activating Tenrai (Ibuki's V-Skill), Tenrai would only come out at max charge.
Fix: Corrected this so that even when holding down HP, Tenrai can be used without being charged.

Street Fighter V "A Shadow Falls" and Two New Characters Release Tomorrow
Hey everyone! Tomorrow, we will release a major new update for Street Fighter V. The update will include a ton of new content, including the highly-anticipated cinematic story mode titled A Shadow Falls as well as the next two characters to join the roster: Ibuki and Balrog. The story mode will be available to all players as free downloadable content, and all released post-launch characters can be purchased using in-game earned Fight Money or real currency. Hit the jump for the full breakdown of content.
Cinematic Story Mode
The Cinematic Story Mode must be downloaded as a separate update from the PS Store or Steam Store. All players will have to first patch Street Fighter V with the 1.04 update by logging into CFN and then download the Cinematic Story Mode update for it to be accessible in the game.
We will be conducting server maintenance starting June 30 th at 14:00 PT / 10 PM BST / 11 PM CET with the update going live on July 1 st at 00:00 PT (midnight) / 08:00 BST / 09:00 CET.
A Shadow Falls
The Street Fighter V cinematic story expansion is divided into five acts and takes place between Street Fight er IV and Street Fighter III, bridging the events that happen in between the two stories. A Shadow Falls, depicts the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors who rise up against them. As the story unfolds, players will enter battles using each of the core 16 characters, in addition to the 6 (released and unreleased) 2016 DLC characters, each with their own unique contribution to the epic clash. A Shadow Falls is free content available to all players and it marks the first time in franchise history that consumers will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience in a Street Fighter game. The epic battle between good and evil begins soon who will RISE UP?
Announced earlier this week, Balrog is one of the most iconic characters in Street Fighter history, first appearing as a boss character in Street Fighter II. Hes always been one of the most vicious characters to ever appear in the series, using his devastating boxing style and questionable tactics to do whatever it takes to win a fight. Balrogs playstyle in Street Fighter V puts the focus on his powerful punches, and with the use of his V-Trigger, he can chain these attacks together to deal some serious damage.
Also being added to the SFV roster, Ibuki is a very tricky, technical character with loads of new ninjutsu tricks up her sleeve. Ibuki is a mobile character with various target combos, but now she has even more ways to mix-up the opponent with the ability to glide through the air and toss out ninja bombs, making it very difficult to predict where she will land and where her next attack will come from.
In addition to A Shadow Falls and the next two characters, the update will also include:
- New stages Balrogs Las Vegas stage and Karins Kanzuki Family Private Beach stage are brand new and will be available to purchase using Fight Money or real currency. Additionally, three new alternate stage options will become available.
- New costume options Premium Battle Costumes for all 20 released characters, as well as Karins Premium Summer Costume, will be available to purchase using real currency. Balrog and Ibukis Story Costumes will be purchasable using either Fighter Money or real currency.
- In-game Currency Shop The in-game store will be upgraded with the PlayStation Store and Steam real money purchase options, for their respective platform. For players who want to purchase content like new characters, stages and costumes outright without using Fight Money, the process will be familiar with purchases happening through the established first party infrastructures.
- Matchmaking improvements Faster and smarter matching, resulting in higher quality matches and a better online experience overall.
The pricing for the extra Street Fighter V content is as follows:
Fight Money Real Currency
$ 5.99 / € 5.99 / £ 4.99
$ 3.99 / € 3.99 / £ 3.29
$ 1.99 / € 1.99 / £ 1.69
$ 1.99 / € 1.99 / £ 1.69
Premium Costumes (Battle and Summer)
$ 3.99 / € 3.99 / £ 3.29
Thats it for today! Enjoy the weekend with all the new content and be sure to tell us what you think by sounding off in the comments or sending us a message at @StreetFighter on Twitter.
SFV: Balrog to be included with Ibuki and the Cinematic Story Mode Update
Hello again, Street Fighters! We have a ton of new information to share with you today regarding the latest update to Street Fighter V! As many of you may have seen last night during CPT Premier Event CEO2016, Balrog will also be released with this update alongside Ibuki and the Cinematic Story Mode! The update will go live in all territories on July 1 st at 00:00 (midnight) PST after the scheduled server maintenance is complete, which starts on June 30th at 14:00 PST
Thats not all though! We have even more content lined up for this release including additional costumes and new stages, so hit the jump to find out more.
Balrog is one of the most iconic characters in Street Fighter history, first appearing as one of the Four Kings of Shadaloo in Street Fighter II as a boss character. Hes always been one of the most vicious characters to ever appear in the series, using his devastating boxing style to knock out his opponents.
Before joining Shadaloo and moving his way up in the ranks to become one of M. Bisons highest ranking officers, he was one of the greatest boxing champions of his time. His style of boxing, which uses illegal techniques such as head-butting, eventually got him banned from competing due to causing extreme harm to his opponents. In short, Balrog will do whatever it takes to win a fight and with the end goal always being to obtain more wealth.
Outside of Street Fighter II, he also appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter IV, not to mention various cross-over titles such as Capcom vs SNK and Street Fighter X Tekken .
Balrog in Street Fighter V still remains as one of Shadaloos top enforcers, working alongside M. Bison, F.A.N.G and Vega. Be sure to check out his Character Story and of course the Cinematic Story Mode to see what sort of trouble he gets himself into this time around.
His playstyle in Street Fighter V puts the focus on his devastating punches, and with the use of his V-Trigger, he can chain these attacks together to deal serious damage. He also has a few cheap attacks up his sleeve to keep the fight in his favor, so dont let your guard down for a moment!
A unique move that twirls his body while moving forward. While activated, you can dodge projectiles as well as string together attacks. You can even activate KKB before a special hits you, allowing you to be a technical inside fighter.
V-Trigger: Crazy Rush
A chance to be the aggressor when activated! Steam rises from his body and allows you to string together specials like Charging Buffalo and Bursting Buffalo.
Critical Art: Gigaton Blow
Unleash the fury from your fist with this simple, yet destructive critical art. It can be connected with various moves. Make sure to include it in your combos.
New Stages and Costumes
To ensure this release packs an even bigger punch, Balrogs story costume and premium battle costume will become available on 7/1, as well as a revival of the classic Las Vegas stage from Street Fighter II! The streets are lined with neon signs as you are cheered on by a fired up crowd.
Thats not all either. This summer, Street Fighter V is about to heat up! The Kanzuki Family Private Beach will now be available as an all new battle stage. This will also be released with the update on 7/1 and can be purchased for 70,000 fight money. Also, Karins premium summer costume will be available to purchase as part of this latest update. As a reminder, all character Battle Costumes will be available for purchase on July 1 st through both the PS Store and Steam. Check out this previous post for the full rundown .
